Welcome

Welcome to ResourceFILE, a project of the Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, Texas. As a church, our mission is “Helping you take your next step towards Christ.” The purpose of ResourceFILE is to provide you with access to various online resources (most of them free of charge) that can help you do just that.

Variety of Resources

There are lots of different kinds of resources on this site.

  • Resources for individual Christians, to help you on your daily faith journey.
  • Resources for Bible class teachers, to provide you with things you can use in the classroom and inspire you with new ideas.
  • Resources for ministers and ministry leaders, to help you in your ministry.
  • Resources for congregations, to present ideas and inspiration for providing the best worship and congregational life experience possible for your members.

As this site grows, we will look for resources that we can share in each of the above areas.

Finding Your Way Around

There are four primary methods for finding the resources you are looking for here at ResourceFILE:

  1. Resources page
  2. Categories page
  3. Tags page
  4. Search box

If you select “Resources” on the main navigation menu, you will be presented with an alphabetical listing of every resource listed on the site. Scroll through the list and find the one you are looking for.

If you select “Categories” on the main navigation menu, you will be presented with an alphabetical listing of every category used to classify the resources listed on the site. When you click on a category name, you will be taken to a list of resources for that category.

If you select “Tags” on the main navigation menu, you will be presented with an alphabetical listing of every tag used to classify the resources listed on the site. When you click on a tag name, you will be taken to a list of resources for that tag.

The Search box at the top of the page can be used to enter a specific search term and pull up a list of resources related to that search term.

CATEGORIES vs. TAGS

Every resource can have one or more categories and one or more tags associated with it. There is no hard and fast rule to distinguish between a category and a tag, but the basic standard we use on this site is this: a category is a broader classification for a resource, a tag is a more specific classification.

Example:

There is a resource listed on the site entitled “Daily Bible Journal,” which is a 365-day Bible reading and devotional guide. As a daily Bible reading guide, it fits in the broad category “Daily Bible Reading.” It is also a useful tool for family devotionals, so it fits equally well in the category “Family Devotionals.” Those two categories classify this resource as to the type of resource it is. Because the daily readings are taken from the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs, those three tags were attached to the resource. “New Testament” is the scope of the resource, or what it’s about, rather than the type of resource it is.

Disclaimer

We have made an effort to ensure that the resources listed on this site are scriptural in their content. However, we are not in control of content authored by others and linked to herein, or appearing on a website linked to from ResourceFILE.

Anything authored by man should always be compared to the Scriptures to make sure it is in agreement with Scripture, as the Bereans did in Acts 17:11.

That being said, it is our hope that these resources will be beneficial to you as you grow in your faith.
